"Trilogies" :

     Trilogy: from the Ancient Greek treîs ("trois") + lógos ("story", "narrative").

A photograph, a drawing, a handwritten text: the Trilogies examine how these different artistic forms compliment or contrast each other, even as they tell the same story, one that is set in stone. Here, the different sections and samples that make up a Time Capsule or the frieze-like Zig Zag Over Time are studied closer and in a more independent manner.

     In recounting "possible narratives" for the Trilogies, Hadjithomas and Joreige show how these samples are also markers of time, a succession of actions - human or otherwise - that inscribe themselves into the rock.

     As well as their own written interpretation, the artists asked people from various disciplines - natural museum illustrators, prehistorians and archaeologists, for example - to draw sections of their choice.
