«Jumping Bean» was a performance given in 2009 on the occasion of
Fiac, in the Jardin des Tuileries. Laurent Tixador lived a week locked in a sphere throughout the fair, perched atop a 8m wooden ocnstruction build with the artists Chapuisat brothers.

Like the Mexican Jumpimg Bean, called after the little caterpillar moving inside, the «Jumping Bean» sculpture wobbled on the slightest movements of his inhabitant.

In this everyday life reduced at its most basic functions, the close environnment was necessarly influencing the artist to the point of obession : the peels of oranges eaten became usual forms traced on the walls, transforming this cocoon into a giant orange skin to be peeled in the future.
